For Families · The Next Generation
Preparing the next generation to run the family business.
Family wealth is built by one generation and kept by the next. We prepare heirs to lead in all three of their future roles: as managers, as owners, and as members of the family.
For Families Planning the Succession
Three Future Roles
Swiss Finance Academy and Swiss Finance Institute®, the educational firms of the Swiss Finance family, prepare the heirs to family enterprises to run a business properly, invest with discipline, and lead in all three of their future roles: as managers, as owners, and as members of the family.
Programs are practitioner-led and educational in purpose. Applications and enrollment are handled by the Academy and the Institute under their own terms.
Curriculum
What Heirs Learn
Eight areas, in the order families tend to need them. It begins with the family enterprise, not with a finance career.
Family Enterprise and Legacy
Working together across generations, family dynamics and governance, a legacy strategy for a successful entrepreneur, and building a family office.
Entrepreneurship
Launching, scaling, and acquiring businesses, and the groundwork of starting a private equity or hedge fund.
Investing and Wealth
Asset allocation, global macro, preserving wealth across cycles, and tax fundamentals.
Investment Banking and M&A
Valuation, deal structuring, and buying and selling companies.
Accounting, Finance and Legal Affairs
From simple financial statements to cost control and managing a company’s legal affairs.
Strategy Consulting
Strategy, operations, and the discipline of structured problem-solving.
AI and Technology
Applying AI, quantitative methods, and technology across business and markets.
Leadership and Management
Leading people and managing an enterprise as the next generation takes over.
Owner and Manager
Both Sides of the Table
Most heirs will one day sit on both sides of the table: as the owner who sets direction, and as the manager who has to deliver it. The curriculum is built for that. It begins with the family enterprise, its governance and its legacy, then adds the disciplines an owner needs to judge a business, a deal, or an investment properly.
Parents are part of the conversation from the start. A program is shaped around the candidate’s stage, objectives, and available time.
